Further Information:

Description:

We have a great need for individual volunteers, missionaries and teams to come and help us build up our Missions camp Coffee bay. We are at the beginning stages of getting the farm established. Our aim is to show the community the Love of Christ. We are currently building a Hall and missions Church on the farm and we need anyone that can offer their helping hand. If you have experience with building then it will be even more of a blessing to us. Any help will be much appreciated in our Vision to impact the community of Coffee bay. We are at the beginning stages with this project so by joining this project, you will be apart of our vision from the start. Our aim is to build on the farm and impact the community with the Love of Christ whilst Building on the farm. We will 1st be building a Hall with parking up at the top of the farm. The hall will be used for community development- keeping children focused on their school work daily and away from substance abuse. We will then be building a outdoor lappa area to have  community Church services. We hope you can join us to Join in on this Vision God has given us.

PROJECT LOCATION

This project is based in a Beautiful un-touched Tropical Coastal region of South Africa, in a Lovely Rural village called Coffee bay. You will get to meet the real Xhosa Tribes and experience Real Rural Africa. The wild coast is still so beautiful and is perhaps the most beautiful part of South Africa you will see.  With rolling hills and African huts on the hills it makes it so unique and special. The Coffee bay missions camp is situated 1km from the Beach and the Ocean view hotel where you will be staying. Our Volunteers walk to and from the farm daily (so please bring good walking shoes) This is your opportunity to get fit if you have always wanted too. If you wish to book a shuttle then there is a shuttle service at an additional cost.

The Wild Coast, Coffee Bay has a poor infrastructure, struggling schools and a neglected healthcare system. We are working together to try and improve this in the Area.

The village is based around beautiful Coastal beaches, where Surfing life is very popular and so are daily hikes Surfing and surf lessons and Horse riding.

There is no shortage of activities in this Adventure paradise. You can surf and Learn to surf, Go fishing and enjoy Great hikes. The hole in the wall is also Close by, this is a Great place to relax at during your spare time.

You are bound to have a Great time enjoying these Activities whilst living in a Tropical atmosphere. Transkei is one of the most Tropical areas in South Africa (yet it’s not too humid).

There is also a weekly home Group at the Lodge (the Volunteers have together, else we go to the Local Church as a Group).

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

All volunteers must be 18 years old, unless accompanied by their parents and although some building experience is helpful, no qualifications or prior skills are necessary. THE PROJECT

The adults and Children we interact with come from Poor back-grounds. Our aim is to give them a Good living environment, whilst teaching them new skills.  Our builders help with Building our Church and hall, maintenance on the farm, Gardening, Painting, General help around the Missions Camp and house to house visits with the community. If you have a heart to work with young children or school children then there is also a great need at our schools in Coffee bay.

As a Volunteer you can help with Building, as well as Assisting at the school if you wish too if the afternoons.
If you wish, you may let us know what you expect from your time with us so that we can make sure you have the best experience possible whilst helping out.
The children come from very Poor back-grounds and many lack Parenting.  The youth we work with in the afternoons come from very underprivileged back grounds. Our aim is to disciple into their lives on the farm in the afternoons.

Education in the Transkei has stood out to be the most neglected and deprived in the whole of South Africa, our aim is to improve the education whilst coming alongside the local schools and helping with aftercare home work programs on the farm with the children and youth. Mornings will be spent building on the farm and afternoons are spent impacting the youth and children assisting them with their home work and other sports activities.
